The Library maintains an extensive collection of materials documenting the history of El Segundo and environs from the early 1900s to the present day. The history collection includes historical photographs, slides, newspaper clippings, postcards and select images from the El Segundo High School yearbooks.
Topics within the Photo Archives include:
- Pictorial history of Standard Oil (now Chevron USA, Inc.) in El Segundo
- Downtown historic buildings and streets
- City Hall plaza and city buildings
- City employees and events of interest
- Beach areas
- Residential streets and private homes
- Local businesses, residents, visitors and more

The Photo Archives is intended for personal, educational and scholarly research. Members of the History Committee provide the identification and history of each photo in the archive.
Ordering Reprints
High quality photographic reprints are available for $12.00 per digital image, which will be received via email as a high-resolution, 300 dpi TIFF file. Reprint orders must be pre-paid online, or with a money order or personal check (made payable to the Friends of the El Segundo Public Library).
