Portals to Memory Mural by Nanibah Chacon

Located in the Sue Carter Friends of the Library Community Room, Diné and Chicana Artist Nanibah Chacon's mural, "Portals to Memory," was created as a part of the library's Book to Action program in May 2019.

John Van Hamersveld's DWP Water Tank Mural

Legendary artist and El Segundo High School graduate, John Van Hamersveld, was the natural choice to design and implement the large-scale art project to improve the rusted and paint-peeled water tower at the west entrance to El Segundo. It had long been an eyesore to many residents and visitors when the idea to revitalize the water tower was proposed to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
